Spanish super club Real Madrid are having a poor season by their own lofty standards, and they currently sit fourth in La Liga table. After 16 games Los Blancos find themselves a whopping 14 points behind their eternal rivals Barcelona, who are threatening to run away with the league title.
With both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema struggling for goals in the league this season it is little surprise that manager Zinedine Zidane is in the market for a player to bolster his squad.
The man that the Real hierarchy believe can turn their season around is Lyon star Nabil Fekir, who has been in stunning for in Ligue 1.
The French international has bagged 11 goals and four assists in 15 appearances during this campaign, and is one of the principal reasons for the club’s success.
Fekir is in his fifth season with Lyon, having progressed from the club’s youth academy. In that time the 24-year old has become a crucial member of the Lyon starting XI, and has established himself as one of France’s top players.
A move to Real Madrid would certainly accelerate the player’s career, and Real certainly need to make a statement in January if they are going to stand a chance of catching Barcelona this season.
